What is an eTwinning project?

An eTwinning project is a project partnership between two or more European Union schools on a predetermined topic. Now schools from same country can also have chance to carry out projects in this platform.

Information Technologies includes all of a communication device and application (eg computer, network hardware and software, satellite systems, radio, television and mobile phones) and related services and other applications (eg video conferencing and distance learning). eTwinning projects are carried out in cooperation and collaboration using the internet and other information technologies (ICT). This is why eTwinning promotes the use of all ICT tools that are safe and useful.

  • Direct contact with education professionals in other European countries

  • Enhanced key skills, including ICT use, communication and foreign language skills
  • Greater cultural awareness
  • Develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills in relation to subject content
  • Encourages self-directed learning

TwinSpace

The place where eTwinning magic really happens is the TwinSpace; a safe platform visible only to the teachers participating in a project. Students can also be invited in the TwinSpace to meet and collaborate with peers from their partner schools. eTwinning projects are carried out in twinspace.

TwinSpace is a private space, which can only be accessed by people who have been given permission by the administrators. It is designed to include those people who are not registered in the eTwinning platform, which allows students, parents or teachers working in the project to see what is happening.
