Module 1. Digital Citizenship and Current Terms

Digital citizens are citizens who can criticize when using information and communication resources, know the ethical consequences of their on-line behavior, take into account the ethical rules when making on-line decisions, do not abuse technology, and encourage correct behavior when communicating and cooperating in the digital world. The perception of being a good citizen in today’s world is rapidly progressing towards becoming a good digital citizen. Because communication and information transfer between citizens started to take place in the digital environment by means of technological tools. This isn’t just in real life either; It has started to create the necessity of acting consciously, safely and effectively while using technological tools in a virtual environment that can make an impact as much as real life.

It can be described as a segment that stays away from digital change in the world, does not
feel the need to understand, does not use or cannot use technology, and even resists change.
 
                                   WHAT IS DIGITAL HYBRID?


Those who are ready for the change in the world, who start to change by trying to understand,
and even who change but cannot completely leave their past habits are called Digital Hybrid.
These are people who have accessed and adopted internet and internet technologies later in 
their lives, mostly in adolescence or young adulthood.

                                   WHAT IS DIGITAL NATIVE?



Digital natives are those who have been familiar with technology from the moment they were
 born, those who see technology as a natural part of life. They cannot even imagine concept
without technology.For them, technology is a must.
                                  WHAT IS DIGITAL FOOTPRINT?

A digital footprint is personal information that a person has actively or passively shared on
 the internet.The main areas of digital footprint are search history, shared photos, social
 media status updates, e-mails sent and online advertisements they clicked.
                                  WHAT IS THE E SAFETY LABEL?


It is a free tool to help maintain ICT integration in the classroom. It also aims to enrich 
schools in terms of information equipment to develop and increase confidence in eSecurity.


                                 WHAT IS SAFER INTERNET DAY?


 
It is organized by the European Commission each year in February to promote safer and more
 responsible use of online technologies among children and young people. It is part of the 
Better Internet for Children Strategy.
